Succession Guide
The succession of shares process can sometimes feel complex or overwhelming, particularly at a time when
whānau may also be dealing with the loss of a loved one. The purpose of this guide is not to overwhelm you
with legal terminology or technical requirements, but rather to help you gain a clear understanding of what
succession is, why it is important, and the steps involved in transferring shares in Whenua Māori and Wi Pere
Trust interests.
Distributions

Education Grants
– closing on 20 March each year

Scholarship
closing on 31 January each year

$4,500 in total, paid in three instalments subject to enrolment confirmation and verification of academic grades
Age (Kaumatua) Grants

$300 to be paid to beneficiaries aged 60 - 79 years old

$400 to be paid to beneficiaries aged 80 - 89 years old

$600 to be paid to beneficiaries aged 90+ years old
